Women’s Health
Comprehensive and personalized care for women with the goal of emotional and physical wellness.
What is women’s health?
Women’s health is the branch of medicine that caters specifically to the unique healthcare needs of women through all stages of life. Women’s health is centered on the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions and diseases that impact a woman’s physical and emotional wellness.
A number of focus areas can be included in women’s health, such as:
Preventive care and screenings
Contraception
Sexually transmitted diseases
Menopause
Hormone therapy
Pelvic pain
Osteoporosis
Overall sexual health
Benign conditions that affect the functioning of female reproductive organs
What hormone treatments are available to improve women’s health?
Dr. Osias specializes in providing bioidentical hormone replacement therapy to treat women who are dealing with the symptoms of menopause. Many patients are interested in bio-identical hormones to help improve their sexual health. Bioidentical hormones are derived from soy or yams and are identical in molecular structure to hormones your body naturally produces.
Hormone replacement can include estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Your treatment will be individualized depending on your specific needs and medical history to carefully assess risks and benefits. Hormones can be administered as a pill, a cream, a shot or a pellet.
Bio-identical hormone therapy effectively combats the hormonal imbalance that usually occurs with menopause and results in bothersome symptoms, such as:
- Low energy
- Low libido
- Memory loss
- Inability to focus
- Weight gain
- Mood swings
- Hot flashes
- Night sweats
- Painful intercourse
